We’re Emma and Ryan Purzycki.
Happy to know ya. Happy to have ya.
You might be here because a friend told you about our school bus adventures, someone who needs a portrait session or maybe you’re newly engaged and looking for someone to document your wedding day.
Either way, you’re in the right place!
We married folk live among the mountains of North Carolina and just love how much green surrounds us — the perfect backdrop if we do say so. We spent a year living on the road in our self-converted school bus named Dilly Gene Queen. Life on the road was just incredible and we’d whole-heartedly recommend it. We told our friends and family that we loved life in Asheville but would travel with an open mind; maybe finding a new city to land. After experiencing dozens of places around the country, we can confidently say that we were meant to settle in Asheville.
We still love traveling for shoots around the country, but the majority of our work seems to remain in Western NC. We definitely miss life on the road, but there’s just something pretty special about running water and a flushing toilet. If you’re curious about our road life adventures, check out our Stories page.
Emma began her business Emma Frances Logan in 2010 and Ryan joined the wedding photography team in 2018. Our childhoods were spent in Southern California and Northern Virginia until life brought us to North Carolina, where we met, fell in love, and began our life as The Purzyckis. We feel so lucky that we’re able to photograph people together. It’s an honor to document the lives of others, whether it be family portraits or weddings. And the fact that we get to create these image time capsules for people together, makes it all the more special.
We’re so glad you’re here and even considering us photographing your family or your wedding day. We’re just a couple of peeps who love creating some photo magic for others, documenting all the little, even mundane things that just make life so sweet.
Tidbits about us, in case you’re curious…
We have quite the traveling track record. So here’s a bit about how we like to see the world. We look for great breweries, coffee shops, bike paths, local shops with handmade trinkets. We love a good cold brew or an iced chai latte, really good pizza and ramen. We love to “disc”over (get it?) disc golf courses, find pottery to add to our humble collection, buy plants on plants on plants, watch Friends and travel food shows (that’s a real genre right), take lots of Polaroids, read lots of books, edit all the many photos, and go for long walks in new neighborhoods.
